Brunswick Heads Medical Centre has been owned and practised in for over 24 years by Dr MARC HEYNING.

One of the strengths of our practice is the continuity of long term care from a small dedicated team.

The Team:

Dr Heyning's team includes a combination of general practitioners, general practice registrars, medical students, a practice manager and four receptionists.

Accredited Teaching Practice:

We are an accreditated teaching and regularly teach medical students from several Australian medical schools including long-term clinical-experience students from Wollongong University. This experience provides a unique and special opportunity for students to gain not only the skills of general practice, but also learn to appreciate and enjoy working in a general practitioner's environment of medicine. This teaching is important for the future of general practice in Australia.

Training of Fully Qualified Doctors:

The practice is accredited by Royal Australian College of General Practice for the supervision and training of fully qualified doctors for the specialised vocation of General Practice. These are qualified doctors, called G.P Registrars, who are gaining additional experience in general practice. They generally work in our practice on six or twelve monthly rotating terms.

We appreciate your support for both our medical students and for our doctors extending their training to provide good doctors dedicated to treating patients in our small towns in the future.

Admitting Rights at the Mullumbimby and District Hospital.

The practice has admitting rights at the Mullumbimby Hospital. This means that our patients with medical conditions requiring admission can be continued to be cared for by doctors from our practice. The practice also provides after-hours medical coverage through a shared roster at the hospital.
